When your car is your baby, something that you have put your heart and soul into, you want to make sure that it is fully insured. But, when you have a car that is older, it can be difficult to find antique auto insurance. Most insurance companies will give you a hard time when you seemingly ask for more than your car is worth in the “blue book”. They don’t always understand that “old” means “antique”.
When you have a truly antique car, you rarely drive it very far or for very long. You keep it garaged and you take care of it. No one gets near it. You drive it to shows (or you may even tow it to shows) and you bring it back home again. Because of this, the insurance rate for antique auto insurance should be very low, but sometimes it is not.
